5:15pm and our room won't be ready for another 45 minutes. Check in time is 4pm. The staff refuses to provide access to the room, refuses to extend our check out time, refuses making up with a refund for hours we were refused access to our room, etc. Two years ago we were here and had to deal with being given a room below our chosen rate and the refund took 2 months to come through. While the location is great and the facility is relatively new service continues to disappoint. We now regret returning to the Tilghman.
Don't risk your deposit! My wife and I paid a $300 deposit in January for our 25th anniversary in May, but the inn cancelled the reservation shortly before the big day citing renovations and new ownership. They grudgingly offered a refund but never sent it, despite numerous e-mail and phone calls. Fortunately we found a great alternative nearby, but we're out our $300. Don't risk it!
We arrived on Friday night to an empty inn and the only staff member that was on site was the maintenance guy. The site said that the bar and restaurant are open until 9 pm but when we got in at 8pm everyone was gone. When we woke up the staff did not make it in again and the maintenance guy ended up making us breakfast. the staff did manage to show up for dinner but were out of half of the food. I ordered a burger well done and it came out still mooing. This has been the most disappointing trip i have ever been on and defiantly not worth $300 a night!!! I called the manager after we left since they did not have anyone there for the 3 days and they told me that that's just how they do business.....
